7xvethegenius, 80 Empire - Somedays

"I'm ya idol/the highest title/and they know better than to rival/that's on the Bible/cuz they'll be dead upon arrival, it's homicidal/, but let's just end this on a high note/that's on ya bridal."

7vxvethegenius and 80 Empire released their latest single, "Somedays," on Friday (August 12).

The soulful track finds both emcees rhyming about the fragile state of life, with most days, you come out victorious. In contrast, on other days, you're subjected to an L. Lush piano instrumentation is sprinkled atop crass kicks and drums, with the duo seamlessly meshing and settling into their distinct flows.

Clocking at three-minutes, both artists discuss the importance of wealthy mind states, getting to a bag, making your talents work for you, and the pride in being the illest emcee. 7xve delivers a stellar verse that kicks things off, interpolating 1989's "Youngest in Charge," the braggadocious track by hip-hop icon Special Ed.

"I'm ya idol/the highest title/and they know better than to rival/that's on the Bible," 7xvethegenius masterfully rhymes over the slick instrumentation. "Cuz they'll be dead upon arrival, it's homicidal/, but let's just end this on a high note/that's on ya bridal."

7xvethegenius most recently took to the stage at the inaugural Drum Work Festival in Buffalo, NY, on Saturday (August 13). She shut the stage down, performing a litany of joints across her previously released LPs.

Other performers for the Buffalo extravaganza featured Armani Caesar, Jae Skeese, Conway the Machine, Benny the Butcher, Westside Gunn, Wale, Fabolous, and surprise appearances from Lloyd and Young Jeezy.
