Grace Greenan Grants Personal Update In “who I am now”

Buffalo's very own alt-pop princess, Grace Greenan, issued her newest body of work, who i am now, on March 17, 2023. WIAN serves as the follow-up to Eden, a 2020 undertaking that reimagines biblical stories from a woman's perspective.

While the EP isn't conceptual by intent, its foundation can be interpreted as a personal journey. The 6-song project covers a variety of themes such as heartbreak (cry), self-love, relationships (red flags), social deconstruction, and identity.

"Tattoo," one of the project's standout tracks, finds Greenan singing over upbeat slick guitar licks, crooning about personal growth, and a pledge to make a change by way of new metaphorical and or literal ink. Meanwhile, "It's alright" rounds out the short EP with a hopeful message: "You make me really wanna lose this fight/So I can come into your arms, and we feel right/Know you got demons I can handle, there's no need to be so fragile/I'll be alright."

Who i am now is a snapshot of an artist caught in a spiritual and emotional metamorphosis just before she makes her next transformation, a project exploring a woman under construction attempting to find self-acceptance amid life's constants.

This is who Grace is now—a human being attempting to make sense of everything, much like the rest of us.
