Kara Jackson Covers A Folk Classic In "Right, Wrong Or Ready"

Chicago's very own Kara Jackson has returned with a new track, a cover of Karen Dalton's "Right, Wrong Or Ready." Jackson debuted her version of the folk classic on Tuesday (April 23). The skeletal recording is hauntingly beautiful, with Jackson's ethereal vocal performance floating along gentle acoustic guitar licks. The emotional vocalization presents a type of old-school hurt not regularly felt in modern music—truly a remarkable change of pace.

Jackson described her cover of Dalton's classic as one of her "favorite" joints to do live. "'Right, Wrong or Ready' is one of my favorite songs that has become a mainstay in my live sets. I've been performing this one for a really long time, so I thought I'd finally put it out ahead of the tour! A lot of people after shows would ask me about this one, thinking it's one of my songs," the Chi-Town Poet Laureate expressed.

"It's really become a part of me in a lot of ways, and I thank Karen Dalton, the legend, for showing so many of us the way! Thank you everyone who worked on this one and making it unique. Please enjoy."
