India Shawn is finally back.
India Shawn has returned with her latest single, "Kill Switch." Shawn released the instrumental-heavy tack on June 13, marking her first release since 2024's "There Must Be a God," from the She Taught Love soundtrack.
"Kill Switch" finds Shawn linking up with Grammy award-winning producer and songwriter D'Mile, Livvy Bennett, and Michael B. Hunter for a track all about reclaiming her power in a relationship with a friend that may have gone too far.
"’Kill Switch" is an unexpected shift, as I move away from the familiar shadows of unreturned love and reclaim the power to decide my own fate," Shawn tells In Search Of Magazine via a press release. "It’s a song about recognizing the potential danger of crossing the line from friends to lovers, and trying to safeguard what’s real before it becomes too messy."

Accompanying the song is a new Anne-Sophie Bine-directed music video starring Shawn alongside acclaimed actor and musician Luke James. The moody and sensual video emphasizes Shawn's cautious prediction that things could get messy if she and her friend take that next step, singing, “This could turn from a good thing to hate, keep it shallow for our own sake.” As the music video's scenes blur together, it becomes clear that the once-platonic relationship may never be the same.
With the release of "Kill Switch," India Shawn officially joins VANTA Music/Disney Music Group — marking a departure from Epic Records. VANTA Music is helmed by D’Mile, along with John Kercy and Natalie Prospere.
"Kill Switch" is out on all platforms now.
