Cordae recently dropped a new video for his Feel It In The Air freestyle, which finds him in his most vulnerable state yet. The 25-year-old emcee, née Cordae Amari Dunston, is seen guiding listeners through his old stomping grounds, detailing his former living conditions and looking back on his rags-to-riches story.

"Feel It In The Air" begins with the young prodigy swearing off the music industry, howling at "fake" execs who promised him a dream that was never fulfilled. Then, scornfully, however, expertly, the From A Bird's Eye View rapper addresses his past year, addressing his bouts with crippling depression, lost in the face of what was and what is.

"Fuck this industry I'm currently a part of, everybody is fake/Ulterior motives, they'll lie in your face," he unleashed over Beanie Siegel's chilling classic. "I seen friends turn to enemies, become distant memories/Everybody's janky, they just not who they pretend to be/I'm tryna find my way out this production deal/Stupid me, young and dumb, I thought the love was real.

"Man, I don't even go outside without touchin' steel/One bad decision and I can gеt my muffin peeled/I know a couple niggas probably had they glassеs filled/I'm sorry, I don't make music for the mass appeal/New crib got six baths, no Jack and Jill/But fuck the braggatory raps, boy, this shit get real/Never mind, I could tell you some shit with clever rhymes/But this year I thought of killin' myself like seven times."

Cordae's darkness is palpable, spitting gripping verses reflecting a disgruntled artist longing for the old days. Days when snacking on frozen processed pizza was his biggest worry.
