Blair Gun Paint A Religious Tale On “The Theif”

Blair Gun's newest single, "The Theif," paints a stirring religious tale. The San Diego punk startup is bringing forth a certain kind of smart and creative storytelling fused with electrifying musicianship. It's the type of music that you can act a fool to in a mosh pit while simultaneously feeling enlightened—the best of both worlds.

Youthful and frenetic energy oozes from the 2-minute track as the vocalist/guitarist Joedin Morelock ponders a tale about corrupt televangelists. The song presents a contradictory story about some immoral religious figures dabbling in the Lord's word for unsavory purposes.

"Are you in need of a contest?/A better baby's winning the match/You can spew and yearn/But you'll wait your turn/I'm the holiest one of the batch/Are you in need of a seance?/Televised on PBS/Like the real McCoy/We could miss the point/A solemn requiem of a mass," they spout on the new track.

"The Theif" will be included in the band's forthcoming album, There Are No Rival Clones Here. The new record is scheduled for June 7 through New York's Enabler No. 6 Records.
