Gritfall Hopes You’re “Taking Ya Time” With New Single

Gritfall issued "Taking Ya Time," his first single from his upcoming self-produced LP, Skate Home. The young prodigy has returned. Featuring the BKRSCLB head honcho Raz Fresco, "Taking Ya Time" finds the duo reflecting on finding your lane within the greater society and maintaining your authentic self at your own pace.

Grit, who is only 17 years old, has already improved upon his previous release, Griptape, somehow sounding like a veteran in such a short time wielding the pen. Along with the new single, the young emcee delivered Raz Fresco-directed visuals, showing the artist's painting, jotting down rhymes, and styling in front of a giant clock—sticking to the song's thematic elements.

In two Instagram posts, the multihyphenate described both the song and the music video, providing additional insight into the track's inspiration.

"NEW ALBUM DROPPING NEXT MONTH ASWELL SELF PRODUCED 🌟🌟🌟bringing art back to the game , nobody taking their time anymore," he typed on April 2, 2023. "That's why this first single about to CIRCULATE through the internet and weed out the bullsh*t!!!🛹🛹🌟🌟Skate Home."

"The video depicts Raz and [me] painting the song from scratch," he continued on April 7, 2023. "In the respective locations we wrote our verses. Tied into our theme of procrastination and time wasters, this video is 🔥🔥🔥."
